Data Protection and Privacy (GDPR Statement)

The International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its members, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU GDPR.

ISHR collects and processes personal data only for legitimate organisational purposes, including membership administration, event registration, scientific communications, and society initiatives such as Early Career Investigator (ECI) activities. Member information is used solely to support ISHR’s aims and is not shared with third parties except where required for official ISHR functions (e.g. conferences or elections) and under appropriate confidentiality agreements.

Access to member data is restricted to authorised ISHR officers, council members, and administrators who require it to carry out their duties. Data is stored securely, processed lawfully, and retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Members have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting the ISHR Secretary:
