The Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine is one of the largest in the UK with world-leading research and teaching activities. It maintains close links with a number of NHS Trusts who collaborate in clinical teaching and translational research.
The Preclinical Imaging Facility (PCIF) is a new initiative based at Imperial College’s Hammersmith Campus, which will allow multimodal investigations of the cardiovascular system and other organs in large animal in vivo models. Equipment in the Facility will include a Siemens Artis Zee 30 x 40 Angiography system with Miyabi table and Syngo workplace integrated (i.e. XMR) with a 3T Siemens MRI and Siemens PET-CT.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual to take up the post of Pre Clinical Imaging Facility Manager to work alongside a full-time Academic Director.
You will be responsible (along with the Director) for initiating and sustaining research within the PCIF, and will be responsible for managing the daily operation and administration of the PCIF. You will also play a key role in the recruitment of the PCIF support staff (radiographer/physicist, radiographer, a data manager, and vet nurse/biologists).
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with robust experience of managing an academic or industry large-animal imaging activity, and who has hands-on experience in at least one of the imaging modalities within the Facility. You will have a first degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience, excellent communication skills and experience of managing, supervising and motivating a team. The ability to manage a budget and experience of the successful promotion of profit making enterprises is also required
This is a full-time position primarily based at the Hammersmith Campus.
