The Israeli Subsection of the ISHR-ES

• Started in March 1984, Petach-Tikva, as the Israeli Group for Heart Research
• Became an official subsection of the ISHR-ES in December 1984.
• Organized the ISHR-ES Meeting in Jerusalem in 1993
• Holds an Annual Meeting every spring with an average of 80 attendants, half of them are students and young physicians
• Organizes a Young Investigator Competition since 1995 (the Rena Yarom Award), a travel award to ISHR-European or World Congresses
